Unhappiness over proposed 25-story condo complexes along Beaver Lake, the water source for NW Arkansas, courtesy The Morning News ,should be an indication of the necessity of discussion over a Beaver lake regional authority with the power to form building and development codes. Will there be a limit to building height? Density? Will such an authority be financed partly through impact fees? The time to consider the possibility of inordinately tall buildings with unimaginable density for this region has arrived. These condo planners should have to fight like hell for a long period of time to allow for careful evaluation and public input concerning the potential impact on our resources and landscape. Projects of the magnitude of these condos will change this region forever; potentially with unhappy results.
